Three ways to help

₹ Donate

Your donation directly funds:

• Vet reviewer honoraria — a licensed veterinarian earns an honorarium to review a batch of ~30 clinical entries. Every donation of ₹5,000 funds one review batch.
• Hosting and bandwidth — the site itself is inexpensive but the Wikimedia image bandwidth we depend on is not. ₹500 covers a month of hosting for the current traffic profile.
• Rare-breed & landrace research trips — travelling to Kerala for the Rajakadal, to Manipur for the Tangkhul Hui, to Kumaon for the Kumaon Mastiff. Each trip costs approximately ₹15,000–25,000.
• The AI training corpus — small stipends for owners who submit high-quality photograph and bark recording sets across the full year.

Attribution. Every donation of ₹1,000 or more receives an attribution line on the About page (opt-out available). Donations of ₹10,000+ receive a dedicated "Sponsor" line at the top of the About page for one year.

Receipt. Every donation receives a receipt. Feme Solutions is a for-profit Indian entity; donations are not tax-deductible unless the entity is later registered under 12A/80G. We will notify past donors if that changes.

📷 Share a photograph

The atlas needs 41 more breed photographs. Priority is rare landraces, where Wikimedia coverage is thin.

What we need

• A clear, well-lit photograph of a dog of the breed. Head-and-shoulders or full-body both work.
• The dog should be clearly identifiable as its breed (not a puppy so small that the breed isn't visible, not obscured by clothing or props).
• Minimum resolution: 800 × 600 pixels. Larger is better.
• You must own the photograph or have permission from the photographer.
• You must agree to license it under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC-BY-SA 4.0).

What you get in return

• Full photographer credit on every page where the photograph appears (like the images already in the atlas).
• A link back to your website, portfolio, Instagram, or wherever you wish.
• Our thanks — dog owners around the world will see your work.

How to submit

Email your photograph as an attachment to photos@feme.solutions with:

1. The dog's breed (from our breed list)
2. The photographer's name (as you'd like it credited)
3. Your website or Instagram (optional — for the credit link)
4. Confirmation: "I own or have permission to release this photograph and I license it under CC-BY-SA 4.0."

Priority: breeds waiting for a photograph

Rare landraces first — many of these are endangered, and photographic documentation is itself a preservation act.

🎙️ Record a bark or vocalization

The atlas is the content backbone of the Dally consumer app — which uses on-device AI to interpret a dog's emotional and vocal state. That AI is currently trained on Google's AudioSet (which reflects Western dogs and Western acoustics). We are building a more globally representative dog-vocalization dataset to replace it.

Your submission helps train an AI that understands real dogs in real homes around the world — where the fan hum, the traffic outside, the tile-floor echo, and everyday background sounds are all part of the acoustic backdrop.

What we need

• A recording of your dog making a sound — a bark, howl, whine, growl, whimper, or "conversational" vocalization.
• Duration: 3–15 seconds per clip. Multiple clips per dog are welcome.
• Recording device: any modern smartphone. WAV is ideal, MP3 / M4A / OGG all work.
• Ambient sound is fine — real home acoustics are part of what we need. Just no other loud dogs in the same clip.
• Owner-labelled context — a short sentence about what was happening ("hungry, waiting for food"; "saw the doorbell", "playing"; "left alone", etc.).

Consent and privacy

• You confirm that no human voices are audible in the recording, or that you consent on behalf of anyone whose voice is audible.
• You license the recording under CC-BY 4.0 for use in academic research and in Feme Solutions' on-device AI training.
• We do not identify your dog by name in any publication. The dataset is aggregated and anonymised.
• DPDPA (2023) note: your email address is used only to correspond about the recording and is not shared.

How to submit

Email your recording(s) to sounds@feme.solutions with:

1. Your dog's breed (or "street dog / mixed" — welcome and important)
2. Your dog's approximate age
3. The city you live in (helps us track acoustic diversity)
4. A short description of each clip (what was happening)
5. Confirmation: "I license this recording under CC-BY 4.0 and consent to its use in Feme Solutions research and product training."

🩺 Volunteer as a vet reviewer

Are you a licensed veterinarian? We would be grateful for your review of a batch of clinical entries.

The workflow

1. Email vets@feme.solutions with your veterinary licence/registration number and your area of practice.
2. We send you a review pack — 30 clinical entries in your area (small animal / cardiology / dermatology / oncology / etc.).
3. You review — accept, correct, or reject each entry. Free-form comments welcome.
4. We publish with your name and licence number as the reviewer credit. Honorarium of ₹5,000 per completed pack.
5. Reviews are refreshed every 24 months or on major clinical-guideline change.

🌐 Translate

The atlas is English-only at launch. Translation into more languages is a Tier-3 goal that unlocks the atlas for millions more dog owners.

The workflow

1. Email translate@feme.solutions with your target language and a paragraph in that language demonstrating your writing.
2. We start with the 30 chapter pages (foundational content) — approximately 60,000 words per language.
3. Translators are paid at market rates — approximately ₹1–3 per word depending on language and translator experience.
4. You are credited on the language-specific version.

✏️ Suggest a correction

Spotted a typo, an out-of-date citation, a factual error, or a missing entry? We want to know.

Email corrections@feme.solutions with the page URL, the current text, and your suggested change. If you're a licensed vet or a subject expert, mention that — corrections from credentialed contributors go to the front of the queue.

Attribution and licensing

Every contribution is attributed by name unless the contributor requests anonymity. Contributions are made under Creative Commons licences (CC-BY 4.0 for recordings and text corrections; CC-BY-SA 4.0 for photographs) — the same licence terms as the rest of the atlas.

Feme Solutions retains the right to use aggregated, anonymised versions of contributed data (particularly bark recordings) for the training of on-device AI models in the Dally consumer product, as described in the Dally Doctoral Business Plan.
