  • India has an estimated 32+ million pet dogs as of the mid-2020s, and free-ranging populations in the tens of millions on top of that — one of the largest domestic-dog populations on Earth.
  • Most encyclopedic dog references online are written for Western pedigree contexts. Dally Canine Atlas is written India-first, covering DPDPA 2023 privacy framing, licensed veterinary review, ABC Rules, and monsoon-specific hazards (snakebite, jellyfish, leptospirosis) that Western references miss.
