Overview

stomach twists on itself. Deep-chested large breeds (Great Dane, German Shepherd, Weimaraner, Standard Poodle). Signs: distended abdomen, unproductive retching, restlessness. TRUE EMERGENCY — survival tied to speed of surgical intervention. Prophylactic gastropexy commonly recommended.
